Travis Kelce has publicly welcomed Adam Sandler back for “Happy Gilmore 2.”

The Kansas City Chiefs superstar and Taylor Swift’s fiancé premiered the first look trailer for the long-awaited sequel to Sandler’s 1996 comedy “Happy Gilmore.”

“It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore,” Kelce says to Sandler’s famous golfer character in the trailer, which will premiere on Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL Gameday 2024.

Kelce, who wears vintage clothing and has slicked-back hair, plays an unknown figure in the comedy.

Sandler starred in his best comedy 28 years ago, playing a hot-tempered failed hockey player who discovers a super-talent for golf with a slapshot.

The sequel, set to premiere on Netflix in 2025, reunites Sandler and Julie Bowen, who plays Virginia Venit. The former PGA Tour spokeswoman is still very happy with her love interest.

“We’ve only just begun,” Venit says cheerfully to Gilmore before kissing him in the trailer.

Happy Gilmore’s running tee shot remains as perfect as ever.

The short preview packed a lot of swings for “Happy Gilmore” fans. Gilmore hits his tee shot with an unusual running start while wearing his Boston Bruins hockey shirt and work boots.

Gilmore giddily rides his golf club like a horse to celebrate another shot and exclaims, “Yeah, baby!” after a sandtrap exit.

There’s also a graveyard brawl between Gilmore’s pompous golf foe Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) and a Peterson tombstone — presumably for Gilmore’s coach and mentor Derick “Chubbs” Peterson, initially played by Carl Weathers and who died in February.

The two enemies exchange names and stare at one other.

Why is Travis Kelce in ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’ and where is Bad Bunny?

Sandler foreshadowed the Kelce cameo during an August visit on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”. “Travis mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler informed Fallon.

Bad Bunny, the Grammy-winning reggaetón sensation who was confirmed for an unnamed part on Netflix social media in September, plays Happy’s caddie in the teaser trailer.

In an April appearance on the “Dan Patrick Show,” Sandler stated that he would “love” to have comic Drew Carey in the film, like Carey’s “The Price is Right” predecessor Bob Barker appeared in the original.

Barker went against type to play Gilmore’s golf companion, a star-crossed couple who end up fighting on the course in the comedy.

“When we were writing stuff, Bob (Barker) was still alive,” Sandler added of Barker, who died in 2023 at the age of 99.
