OMAHA, Nebraska – Here are the headlines we’ll bring you first on Thursday, December 26:

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen is recovering from rib surgery performed on Christmas Day. On Sunday, he was hospitalized after being bucked off a new horse while riding with his family near Columbus.

The surgery was scheduled for the afternoon and was expected to last approximately four hours. This is the second surgery he has had since the accident.

Omaha police are investigating a Christmas Eve shooting that left one person damaged. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, near 27th St. and Poppleton Ave.

Police are also investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Christmas Eve at a Family Dollar at Charles St. and Saddle Creek Rd. just before 8 p.m.
