Lincoln, Nebraska (KOLN) Governor Jim Pillen was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on Sunday after falling from his horse.
According to a news release from the governor’s office, the incident occurred as Pillen was riding a horse with family members. Pillen was thrown off a new horse and hurt.
The governor was taken to Columbus Community Hospital before being transferred to the Nebraska Medical Center out of precaution.
According to his office, the governor is scheduled to be in the hospital for several days. The governor is alert and constantly communicates with his team.
The doctors at Nebraska Medicine will deliver an update on Pillen’s treatment condition and recovery on Monday at 10 a.m.
