The most scary incident in Washington County police archives occurred when a blood-covered man came into a Blair company, claiming to have “forked” his parents. Deputies in rural Nebraska were kept busy with stranded motorists and field fires.
On Friday, December 20, Washington County officers provided aid throughout the region, beginning with routine building checks in Fort Calhoun after midnight.
Deputies stopped Lorenzo Cruz Zurita on Highway 133 and arrested him for driving while revoked. Earlier that day, cops investigated a two-vehicle accident near Industrial Park Drive and Grant Street, as well as assisted a transient in crossing the Dodge County line.
Saturday, December 21. The day began with an emergency response to a probable structure fire at 14600 County Road 40, where deputies worked alongside Kennard Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Bennington Volunteer Fire Department.

The day’s most major occurrence was when authorities responded to a big field fire at 11800 County Road 28, which was effectively extinguished.
Monday, Dec. 23 The early morning hours were marked by medical assistance in Fort Calhoun, when deputies assisted Fort Calhoun Volunteer Fire and Rescue with an emergency call, as well as usual overnight business checks in Fort Calhoun and Arlington.
