Crews quickly extinguish Omaha house fire

OMAHA – Investigators have determined the cause of an Omaha house fire that occurred on Tuesday.

Just before 10:30 a.m., the Omaha Fire Department received a call about a fire in a home near 28th St. and Maple Ave.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the house.

According to the report, the fire was “under control” within five minutes.

According to OFD, no one was home at the time of the incident, and no injuries occurred.

According to the report, the fire started due to improper disposal of smoking materials. Damages are estimated at $11,500.
