A Carter Lake, Iowa man convicted of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed Gary Smith of Norfolk and injured two others has been sentenced to 32 to 40 years in prison.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, Joshua Kuhl pleaded no contest in Douglas County District Court and was found guilty of DUI motor vehicle homicide with a prior DUI conviction and two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury.
According to Nebraska sentencing guidelines, Kuhl must serve at least 16 years before being eligible for parole.
He will be credited for 311 days served while awaiting trial.
