A 32-year-old Wisconsin man is accused of fatally shooting his younger sister before confessing to police, telling detectives he was fed up with being bullied by the 22-year-old woman.

Gerardo Jimenez-Rico was arrested last week and charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Jocelyn Jimenez, according to records reviewed by Law&Crime.

Jimenez-Rico is also accused of shooting his parents, ages 56 and 54, for the same reason. The mother and father were both injured but survived, and Jimenez-Rico was charged with two additional counts of first-degree attempted homicide for their injuries.

Jimenez-Rico faces three charges, each with two modifiers: one for domestic abuse with infliction of physical pain or injury, and another for the use of a dangerous weapon.

Officers from the Milwaukee Police Department responded to a shooting call around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, near 40th Street and Cheyenne Street, according to Milwaukee Fox affiliate WITI.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they reported entering the home and quickly discovering three adults with gunshot wounds. The youngest victim, Jimenez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured woman reportedly told officers that her son, Jimenez-Rico, had shot her, her husband, and her daughter.

Authorities had barely begun their search for Jimenez-Rico when he reportedly walked into the District One Milwaukee Police station and claimed to have “shot someone” before confessing to the attack on his own family, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Milwaukee ABC affiliate WISN.

In a subsequent interview with detectives, Jimenez-Rico reportedly stated that the rest of his family had just returned from a month-long trip to Mexico earlier that day. Jimenez-Rico stated that he was unemployed and broke, which is why he did not join them on the trip.

Jimenez-Rico allegedly stated that his family frequently “gangs up on him because he is unemployed and he feels they bully him.”

He went on to say that just before the shooting, his father and sister had complained about him leaving dirty dishes in the sink, and that Jimenez-Rico would soon need to find another place to live.

Jimenez-Rico reportedly stated that as the two continued to harass him, he pulled the pistol from the waistband of his pants and shot his father.

“He was just fed up with putting up with the bullying from his father and sister,” according to the complaint, which also states that Jimenez-Rico claimed the bullying had been going on for several years.

Jimenez-Rico claimed that his sister responded by picking up a knife, so he opened fire on her. Jimenez-Rico then allegedly shot his mother, despite telling investigators that “he did not intend to shoot his mother and could not explain why he did,” according to WISN.

A GoFundMe page for Jimenez’s 4-year-old daughter and parents stated that she was the victim of “an unimaginable turn of events.”

“This horrific incident has left Jocelyn’s family, including her fiance, older sister, and young daughter, in unbearable grief,” according to the website.

“Jocelyn’s little girl is now left without her mother, and her family is facing overwhelming challenges, including therapy costs, hospital bills, rehabilitation expenses, and essential living costs for her parents.”
