Hundreds of Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers and airmen are traveling to DC for Trump's inauguration.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania National Guard has announced that it will send several hundred service members to Washington, D.C., for the 60th Presidential Inauguration.

Three weeks remain until Donald J. Trump, the president-elect, takes the oath of office for the second time since defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton on January 20, 2017, marking his inauguration.

The Pennsylvania National Guard is scheduled to assist with security at Trump’s second inauguration.

The Pennsylvania National Guard will supply “more than 750 Soldiers and Airmen to support the District of Columbia National Guard in ensuring the safe execution of the 60th Presidential Inauguration, and associated events,” according to State Public Affairs Officer Wayne V. Hall.

About 1,000 members of the Pennsylvania National Guard were dispatched by former Governor Tom Wolf to assist the National Guard in Washington, D.C., for President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021.

This year’s inauguration, which falls on Martin Luther King Dr. Day, will include a parade celebration and a luncheon at the Capitol, according to Nexstar’s Washington DC Bureau.

Additionally, a “victory rally” is planned for Sunday, January 19, the day before Inauguration Day, at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
