NORFOLK, Nebraska – A Norfolk man was killed in an accident in February 2024, and according to law enforcement in the metro area, a man has been sentenced to up to 40 years in prison.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua Kuhl, 36, of Carter Lake, received a sentence ranging from 32 to 40 years in prison on Tuesday.
Kuhl’s blood alcohol content was.171 was on the road on February 18, 2024. He killed Norfolk resident Gary Smith in an accident after failing to stop at a stop sign.
Kuhl was sentenced to 30-37 years in prison for motor vehicle homicide and 2-3 years in prison for two counts of driving under the influence that resulted in serious bodily injury.
