Murder charge against an Omaha man in connection with his brother's death has been dropped

OMAHA, Nebraska – The man who appeared in court in connection with his brother’s death is no longer charged with murder.

Nicholas King, 26, appeared in court yesterday for a preliminary hearing regarding the death of his brother, Large King Jr., in December 2024.

According to court documents, Nicholas’ charge was reduced from First-Degree Murder to Manslaughter.

A First-Degree Murder conviction could have resulted in Nicholas’ life in prison. Now, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

Nicholas is still held without bond.
