OMAHA – A dog and his owner were rescued after falling into a frozen pond on Saturday.
This occurred near 114th and Fort Street, near Rambleridge Park.
One of the dog’s owners told First Alert 6 that they were walking near two puppies when Lonnie got loose and ran onto the ice.
The other owner dashed in to save Lonnie, but he fell into the pond himself.
A DCSO deputy witnessed the incident and rushed to assist.
The two-year-old Rottweiler and its owner were rescued.
They express gratitude to all of the first responders who came to help.
