Popular Snack Recalled in Nebraska Poses 'Serious' Health Risk

Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc recalled “2.46 oz packages of Shirakiku brand Curvee Puffs Corn Puff Snack Curry Flavor” sold in Nebraska on January 17th due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.

The recalled products, distributed to retail stores and online businesses across 38 states, “contain undeclared milk” and pose the risk of a “serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” to individuals allergic to the ingredient, which is not listed on the product labels, according to the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Consumers should avoid Curvee Puffs Corn Puff Snacks in Curry Flavor with UPC code 07441078512, which includes all lot numbers and best by dates.

So far, no allergic reactions have been reported as a result of eating mislabeled Curvee Puffs Corn Puff Snacks in curry flavor.

Officials are urging customers who have already purchased a recalled box of mislabeled Curvee Puffs Corn Puff Snacks in curry flavor to return it to the store for a full refund.
