Two people were arrested after more than 700 grams of drugs were discovered in a southeast Nebraska home

LINCOLN, Nebraska — Two people were arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol on Thursday following a drug investigation in Syracuse.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a home near the public library around 1 p.m. as part of an ongoing investigation.

They discovered 186 grams of methamphetamine, 536 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun, according to the patrol.

Troopers said they discovered more methamphetamine while searching two people who had recently left the home.

Kellie Bassinger, 30, and Brian Werner, 41, were booked into the Otoe County Jail on multiple charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
