Troy, AL – A multi-vehicle crash closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near mile marker 122 Tuesday afternoon.
The crash, which occurred around 12:14 p.m., involved several vehicles and caused significant traffic delays.
Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division responded quickly to the scene. According to the ALEA, icy conditions contributed to the accident and road closure.
Both lanes remain closed, and officials have not said when traffic will resume. Authorities advise drivers to avoid the area and take alternative routes. They also warn that severe winter weather may exacerbate road conditions.
