A man and a woman have been charged with the death of a woman in Cardiff, Wales.
On April 19, South Wales Police issued a press release confirming that a 41-year-old Cardiff man had been charged with the murder of Paria Veisi, 37. A 48-year-old woman from London was also charged.
The update came after Veisi’s body was discovered in Penylan, Cardiff. People previously reported that a man and a woman were arrested after Veisi was last seen leaving her workplace on Saturday, April 12.
“Detectives investigating the murder of Paria Veisi have discovered her body at an address in Penylan, Cardiff,” South Wales Police said in a press release.
A man “has been charged with murder; preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.”
At this point, the lady “has been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.”
Authorities said the man and woman appeared in Cardiff Magistrates Court on Saturday, April 19. Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, April 22.
“This brings our search for Paria to a sad and tragic end,” Senior Investigating Officer and Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell said in a statement. “Paria’s family, all those who knew her, and those in her local community, will be deeply saddened and shocked by these latest developments.”
Powell added, “Family liaison officers continue to assist Paria’s family. I would like to thank all those who have come forward so far with information since our appeal was launched.”
“There will continue to be detectives and crime scene investigators working in the Penylan area over the next week,” he said, adding that anyone with information should contact the police.
