According to Omaha police, a 3-year-old girl died as a result of an accidental shooting on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., officers responded to a call in a neighborhood near 146th and Center streets.
According to an official release from the OPD, the girl was found dead on the scene.
Officers arrested a 44-year-old man and charged him with child abuse by neglect, which resulted in death, as well as drug possession.
The shooting is still being investigated.
