A Buffalo man faces a lengthy prison sentence after pleading guilty on Monday, April 14th, to charges related to a domestic violence homicide that shocked Niagara Falls residents earlier this year.
Keith William Hill, 32, admitted to multiple felony counts in the March 31st killing of Tania Wilson, a mother of four. His guilty plea included charges of second-degree murder, aggravated criminal contempt, and second-degree criminal contempt.
Hill initially pleaded not guilty and was held without bail. He now faces a maximum sentence of 23 years to life in prison. During the court proceedings, Niagara County Judge Caroline Wojtaszek informed him of the sentencing cap.
Niagara Falls police responded to a late-night call around 11 p.m. on March 31st at a residence on Orleans Avenue regarding reports of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they discovered Wilson’s lifeless body inside the home. The 39-year-old woman had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Her four children, ranging in age from toddlers to teenagers, were also present in the home. They were physically unharmed and are currently being cared for by relatives.
Further investigation revealed Hill and Wilson’s troubling history of domestic violence, including Hill’s previous conviction for weapons possession. Detectives discovered a prior incident and an active arrest warrant for Hill stemming from a February 2024 violation of a Pennsylvania protection order. This was an order that specifically prohibited contact with Wilson.
Authorities arrested Hill on April 4th, and the Pennsylvania contempt charge is still pending. The ongoing investigation has also linked him to a 2021 weapons case in Buffalo.
The case has now progressed to sentencing.
