As the Nebraska football team approaches the end of its spring practice session with something other than the Spring Game, the Huskers appear to be answering some questions about what to expect in 2025.
That is especially true for the offensive line. A unit that could benefit from having several potential starters available right now to help the team build depth.
On Saturday, head coach Matt Rhule singled out several offensive linemen who have impressed him this spring. Elijah Pritchett, a recent portal transfer, was one of these players. Another was a guy who has been in Lincoln for a while and is beginning to demonstrate that he can be something if he truly believes in himself.
“As soon as Grant decides that he is a scholarship player, he is going to be something else,” Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule said of third-year sophomore Grant Seagren. “He is in the Raikes school, so that means he is an elite student — he has to leave meetings to go to class and he makes it up.”
Matt Rhule sees unexpected Nebraska football O-line star rising
“He is got all the talent to be a starter;” Rhule also mentioned the player who joined the Huskers as a walk-on tight end. “He just has to in his mind say, ‘I am the starting left tackle.’…”He is a major player in my opinion.”
He is also the type of player who might not have received much playing time this spring if Turner Corcoran, Gunnar Gottula, Henry Lutovsky, and Teddy Prochazka had all been healthy and practicing.
While they should return in the fall and improve the Nebraska football team’s offensive line, players like Seagren stand out to Matt Rhule. It is never a bad thing to have unexpected contributors step up.
