One of the best, or should I say “coldest” names in college football has hit the transfer portal yet again.
Decoldest Crawford, a former Nebraska wide receiver who left the Cornhuskers football program in 2023 to pursue a transfer, is back on the transfer portal after spending one season with Louisiana Tech.
Crawford suffered an injury during fall camp at Nebraska, causing him to miss the entire 2022 season. He then transferred to Louisiana Tech for the 2023 season, where he had just 17 receiving yards on two catches. Crawford has no stats for the 2024 season, and he is once again listed in the transfer portal.
Crawford became well-known for his legendary first name in college football, as well as for appearing in a commercial for SOS Heating and Cooling, an HVAC company in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, where his name was used as a pun on cold air.
It is an excellent name for any athlete, especially after a big catch if he wishes to perform the “ice in my veins” celebration. However, after two seasons with only two catches for 17 yards and no stats for the 2024 season, it is unclear where Crawford will end up next. Some believe he could end up at Grambling State alongside former Nebraska coach Mickey Joseph.
Even if he is not on the field next season, he will be remembered for his name and, most notably, the commercial he created while at Nebraska.
