A gunshot in West Omaha left two people hurt and one person in custody

OMAHA – A shooting in West Omaha on Saturday night injured two people and landed one man in custody.

According to an Omaha Police Department release, officers responded to the scene at a church near Q Street and Blackwell Drive around 11 p.m. on Saturday.

According to OPD, responding officers discovered several people attending a private party in the church’s basement. The two victims were also in the basement, along with the suspect, who was being restrained by others at the party.

The suspect, Bismellah Mohammdi, 33, was arrested.

The two victims were taken to Lakeside Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
