A LOT OF STORES Major discount retailer 'better than Walmart' will open 78 outlets in days as it starts major return following bankruptcy

Big Lots! is best known for its low-cost home goods and everyday essentials, and after mass closures, it is making a big comeback.

This is all part of the retailer’s larger plan, which includes the reopening of 78 additional stores on May 15.

In total, 132 Big Lots stores will reopen in 14 states throughout May.

The openings have been divided into two phases, with the first wave beginning on May 1 and the second set officially opening on May 15.

This move is part of a larger strategy to revitalize the brand.

Recent financial difficulties have resulted in bankruptcy filings and widespread store closures.

Under the new ownership of Variety Wholesalers, Big Lots! has been working to reclaim its position as a go-to destination for value shopping.

BIG FANS

On May 1, Big Lots announced on Facebook, “We are welcoming 54 more stores to the NEW BIG LOTS!” Today is a family day!!

“Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen! #ThinkBig.”

Some customers even say it is now ‘better than Walmart.’

One customer wrote on Facebook, “I miss our Big Lots.” They always had a greater selection of summer lawn, garden, and patio decorations than our Walmart!”

Many customers left comments on the post, begging the chain to reopen previously closed locations.

North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are leading the reopening push, with loyal customers eager to see Big Lots! back in their communities.

The official Big Lots! website includes a complete list of reopening locations.

The company claims to be focused on providing an expanded inventory selection and unbeatable deals.

Variety Wholesalers’ President and CEO, Lisa Seigies, expressed her excitement about the brand’s progress.

“The customer response to the newly expanded inventory and fresh in-store experience has been overwhelmingly positive,” Seigies told me.

The relaunch aims to capitalise on rising demand for discount retail options, particularly as American consumers continue to seek savings as prices rise.

Big Lots! stores have a large selection of discounted items in categories such as home, furniture, household essentials, and groceries.

With the next wave of openings just days away, Big Lots! is reestablishing itself as a serious competitor in the discount retail market.
