A preliminary hearing was held for the suspect in the January murder in Bellevue

PAPILLION, Neb – One of the teenagers arrested in connection with the Bellevue murder had his preliminary hearing on Monday.

Judge PaTricia Freeman referred Oscar Salazar’s case to district court for trial.

Salazar, 18, is currently facing charges of first-degree murder, using a firearm to commit a felony, unlawful/intentional discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a juvenile offender.

He is currently being held without a bond.

Salazar and Alondra Romero-Figueroa, both 18, were arrested in March in connection with Jaydon Palma, 21, of Bellevue, who was murdered in January.

Romero-Figueroa faces two counts of accessory to murder. She was arrested without incident and booked into the Sarpy County Jail, according to a BPD release.

Salazar was arrested Jan. 23 — three days after Palma’s murder — in an unrelated case involving terroristic threats and theft ranging from $1,500 to $4,999 that occurred on Jan. 15. His bond was set at $500,000, and the theft charges were dropped during his preliminary hearing.
