With the discount chain’s partnership with Uber Eats underway, customers can expect three major benefits.
Family Dollar, founded in 1959, is among the most popular discount stores in the United States, along with Dollar Tree and Dollar General.
The chain’s retail reach has expanded, bringing its vast selection of affordable products to even more customers through a new partnership with Uber, the companies announced on Tuesday.
Uber Eats customers can now place orders from over 5,000 Family Dollar locations across the country.
A wide range of Family Dollar items are now available on the Uber Eats platform, including cleaning supplies, snacks, and beauty products.
Customers can now have the discount chain’s products delivered directly to their door, either on-demand or on a set schedule.
“By partnering with Uber Eats, it is now even easier to access essentials from the comfort of home,” said Bonita Price, Family Dollar’s chief merchandising officer.
“Expanded access at an incredible value goes a long way in helping our customers save time and do more, especially in underserved communities.”
Uber praised the addition of Family Dollar to its platform as a significant step toward the company’s goal of making quality everyday essentials accessible and affordable to those seeking value.
To commemorate the partnership, Uber Eats customers can use the promo code FAMILY40 to receive 40% off orders of $30 or more, up to $25, at Family Dollar.
Hashim Amin, Uber’s head of grocery and retail in North America, promised three key benefits from the partnership between the transportation company and Family Dollar.
“This partnership expands affordable access to everyday items while giving people even more ways to shop smart, save time, and stay on budget,” Amin told reporters.
Retail expert Dominick Miserandino, CEO of Retail Tech Media Nexus, praised the new service for improving consumer access.
“With people working more than one job to get through this economy, perhaps this time-saving solution will help shoppers get easy access to lower-cost items on their schedule,” Miserandino told the U.S. Sun.

Customers should open the Uber Eats app and navigate to the “Retail” or “Convenience” categories.
They can find a Family Dollar store near them and shop for a variety of low-cost items.
When customers find the everyday essentials they want to buy, they simply add them to their online cart, select a delivery time, and complete their order.
Uber Eats customers can track their orders in real time as they are delivered to their doorstep.
The new partnership aims not only to increase accessibility, but also to help Family Dollar reposition itself in the retail market.
The discount chain, which has approximately 8,000 locations in the United States, has struggled since being acquired by Dollar Tree for $8.5 billion in 2015.
In March, Dollar Tree announced that it would sell Family Dollar for $1 billion.
Just months before, the discount giant’s executives announced 1,000 store closures.
