CENTRE COUNTY – A Bellefonte man who set fire to a relative’s home while she was still inside will serve more than ten years in prison.
Matthew Davis was sentenced to 15.5 to 40 years in prison on Friday morning in Centre County Court.
Davis previously faced charges for attempted murder and arson.
He pleaded guilty a few weeks ago to arson and attempted aggravated assault.
Davis was charged in July 2023, after police say he put a gas tank in a vehicle and set it on fire during a fight with a family member, causing the flames to spread to a Spring Township home.
