Tennessee – A 20-year-old Tennessee woman has been charged with the murder of her partner, whom she allegedly killed after learning of his infidelity after discovering the victim’s correspondences with another person.

D. Badget, 20, has been charged with first-degree murder for fatally shooting her partner, Steven, amid allegations of infidelity.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a shooting at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found the defendant in the driveway, allegedly screaming for help. Inside the house, officers discovered the victim, who had died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

According to Tennessee authorities, the defendant told deputies that the victim used her phone after his own device broke. She later discovered several messages on his phone after logging into his account, which she claimed revealed he had been unfaithful, according to WVLT.

According to deputies, the woman then retrieved a firearm from their bedroom’s nightstand and waited on the couch for about an hour until he returned home from work. When he arrived, she confronted him about the messages while holding the gun in her hand.

The woman told investigators that she repeatedly racked the slide of the firearm to emphasize that it was loaded, while demanding that the victim take specific actions regarding the status of their relationship.

According to deputies, an argument ensued, and the victim allegedly attempted to grab the weapon. In response, she discharged the firearm, killing him.
