According to police, a Louisiana woman allegedly beat a man to a pulp in the street on Friday before leaving him to die when two cars ran over his crumbled body moments later.
Tonnisha Mitchell, 43, allegedly hit Gene Hill, 42, in the head and body several times with a bat after the two got into a heated argument in her car, which spilled out onto the street around midnight, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Hill was beaten so badly that he collapsed as Mitchell fled the scene, witnesses told investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim was unable to get to his feet and was hit by two passing cars, resulting in his death, authorities said.
In addition to manslaughter, Mitchell is accused of attempting to destroy evidence in various locations in the area following the beating, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police reported that she was later arrested at her home.
It is unclear what relationship existed between the suspect and the victim.
Mitchell is charged with manslaughter and second-degree battery and is being held at Calcasieu Correctional Center.
