Teenagers were arrested in connection with a car theft case at Westroads Mall

OMAHA – Omaha Police said Wednesday that two suspects are in custody, one in Lincoln, after a 91-year-old man reported being carjacked at Westroads Mall last week.

According to a Wednesday news release from the OPD, Dhevan Phillips-Mills, 18, was arrested in Lincoln with the assistance of the city’s Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into Lancaster County Corrections for robbery.

The OPD also stated in the update that they arrested a 17-year-old suspect on Monday.

The arrests come more than a week after an elderly man claims he was robbed and assaulted at Westroads Mall.

The incident reportedly occurred just before 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28; police made the information public later in the week.

According to previous reports, the victim told officers that two white males had pulled him from his vehicle and punched him in the face several times. They then stole his vehicle, which was eventually recovered.
