SPRING, Texas – Authorities arrested a 39-year-old man several days after he allegedly killed his father and stepmother.
On February 16, the Harris County Precinct Four Constable’s Office responded to the 4000 block of Fitzwater Drive, where they discovered two victims, identified by KRIV-TV as 72-year-old Franklin Frakes and 56-year-old Florentina Frakes, both deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe their son, Benjamin Frakes, forced his way into the home and fatally shot the couple the night before.
Franklin Frakes allegedly attempted to defend himself, and his son was injured by gunfire during the struggle.
According to an update from the constable’s office, on May 20, deputies responded to the Dog House Poker Club after an individual reported that Benjamin Frakes was playing poker inside. Authorities entered the scene and apprehended the suspect.
Deputies discovered a “sizable amount” of cocaine, Xanax, oxycodone, and other unknown substances in his possession. Officials also found two firearms in Frakes’ vehicle.
Investigators believe Frakes stole the victims’ SUV, which is still missing.
According to Harris County Jail records, Frakes is still being held on a $5 million bond and has been charged with capital murder.
