According to a former government official, the United States has built a secret underground “city” worth $21 trillion where the ultra-wealthy can hide during a “near-extinction event.”
Catherine Austin Fitts, the assistant secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H.W. Bush, made the shocking claim on former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s podcast, according to Realtor.com.
According to a 2017 report released by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore, the department incurred an astounding $21 trillion in “unauthorized spending” between 1998 and 2015.
Fitts prompted Skidmore’s report by referring “to a report which indicated the Army had $6.5 trillion in unsupported adjustments, or spending, in fiscal 2015.”
“Given the Army’s $122 billion budget, that meant unsupported adjustments were 54 times the amount authorized by Congress. Typically, such adjustments in public budgets represent only a small portion of authorized spending,” according to the report.
While appearing on “The Tucker Carlson Show,” Fitts stated that she spent years investigating where the $21 trillion had gone and discovered 170 secret underground bases across the United States.
“One of the things I have looked at in the process of looking at where all this money is going is the underground base, city infrastructure, and transportation system that is been built,” according to her.
“We have built an extraordinary number of underground bases and, supposedly, transportation systems,” including bases beneath the oceans, she claimed.
It is unclear where the secret bunkers are located, or who among the elite may have access to them if disaster strikes. It is also unclear how large the bunkers are or what aspects of daily life they include.
Fitts claimed that the bases would be used if a “near-extinction event” occurred, or for the government to carry out “secret” projects, such as a secret space program.
Carlson stated that he assumed such bases would only exist in Washington, D.C., to be used in the event of a “nuclear war,” to which Fitts replied, “Some of it is. It is preparing for a disaster.”
