Three girls went fishing a few weeks ago and vanished; their bodies have now been discovered submerged in a river

Police in Nebraska have reported a tragic conclusion to the weeks-long search for three missing girls. On April 15, 2025, Laiana Green, 18, Lah Ktray Moo, 18, Eh Cress Moo, 11, and an unidentified fourth girl went fishing in Omaha’s NP Dodge Park.

After one of the girls fell into the Missouri River, the others allegedly attempted to save her. Unfortunately, only one person escaped the water, while Laiana, Lah, and Eh went missing. After two weeks, crews have finally located all three bodies, giving their families some closure.

According to WOWT, crews discovered Lah’s body on the evening of April 26. They discovered Eh and Laiana on the morning of April 29. The Omaha Fire Department confirmed the discovery in a Facebook post.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of these girls. “The loss of these young lives has touched our entire community, and our hearts will be with you now and in the days ahead,” the statement read.

Several agencies have joined the search for the girls. The fire department thanked everyone involved in the search.

“Thank you to our OFD Special Operations Team for their unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout this challenging mission,” according to the department’s statement.

“Your tireless efforts exemplify the heart of our service. The skill, teamwork, and compassion you demonstrated throughout this response exemplify the best of our department. We are proud of your bravery and deeply grateful for the care and dedication you provide to our community every day.”

Following the discovery of the girls’ bodies, Nichelle Griffy, Laiana Green’s aunt, told KMTV that she felt some closure.

“Right now, feeling relieved that we have all three girls physically now – sad, but we are thankful that we have them now,” Griffy told me.

She added that the families are relying on one another to get through the tragedy. “We all sharing the same loss, so not even different languages should outshine your hearts,” Griffy said, according to KMTV.

Loved ones have organized fundraisers for the girls’ families. Htee Paw expressed gratitude on a GoFundMe page for Lah and Eh.

“My family would appreciate your prayers and support as we continue to deal with this devastating loss. Any money donated will be used to cover funeral expenses. “We appreciate your kindness and support in helping us reach our fundraising goal,” she said.

The GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $8,000 of its $10,000 goal.

LaShawna Jones set up a separate GoFundMe page in honor of Laiana’s courage. It has raised $4,000 toward a $10,000 goal.

“We are heartbroken to report that our 18-year-old Laiana Green, also known as LaiLai or Pooh, drowned while attempting to save her family and friends in a local river. “She acted selflessly and bravely in the midst of chaos, and we are devastated by the loss,” Jones wrote on the page.
