WASHINGTON – As it pursues its mass deportation agenda, the Trump administration has announced that it will pay $1,000 to illegal immigrants who have returned to their home country voluntarily.
The Department of Homeland Security said in a news release Monday that it is also paying for travel assistance, and that people who use the CBP Home app to notify the government that they intend to return home will be “deprioritized” for detention and removal by immigration enforcement.
“If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest, and most cost-effective way to leave the United States without being arrested.” “DHS is now offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance and a stipend to return to their home country via the CBP Home App,” Secretary Kristi Noem stated.
President Donald Trump’s campaign has focused on immigration enforcement and mass deportation of illegal immigrants in the United States, but this is a costly and resource-intensive effort.
While the Republican administration is urging Congress to increase resources for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which is in charge of removing people from the country, it is also encouraging illegal immigrants to “self-deport.”
