Council Club and NOISE

After Sarah Johnson’s unsuccessful bid for Omaha’s District 1 City Council seat, she has not lost any of her drive. She’s created a weekly City Council review/preview of council meetings, called Council Club. Hosted on Zoom for since May 2021, the group discussed the previous week’s votes and previews the upcoming agenda items.

Starting with October 7th’s Council Club, NOISE will be posting some of the group’s research. I have been attending most of the Council Club meetings and look forward to this collaboration between Sarah Johnson and NOISE. This is a start for NOISE’s recently announced downtown news and civics bureau. They are also hosting their first fundraiser on November 13th, 2021: Making NOISE AF.

On Strike

Workers at Kellog’s and John Deere have gone on strike. I don’t know much about this yet, when I do learn more expect to see some information in this space. You can follow along at BCTGM’s Twitter (for Kellog’s).
