Indiana and Notre Dame face battle tonight in the first game of the expanded College Football Playoff, and Doug believes it could be the most historic day in college football history.
After decades of calling for a mechanism to identify a legitimate National Champion, it has finally arrived. We no longer leave co-champions or unbeaten teams out in the cold; instead, we have the most fair and equal method conceivable.
Doug Gottlieb: “This is the fairest and most equitable this sport has ever been, and likely will ever be…I did not say it was flawless.
It’s not the teams I’d choose, but no one can say it’s unfair…So, they’ll be the most fair, the most equitable, and the first true National Champion in college football history.”
