Sarpy County continues to grow, especially in the direction of Lincoln, along I-80. This is where you’ll find Gretna, Nebraska. The town is growing so much that they’ve anticipated the need for a second high school, Gretna East High School will join Gretna High School starting with fall classes in 2023.
The new high school will welcome 9th-11th grade students. Seniors for the 2023-24 school year will finish out at Gretna High School so as to remain with their graduating class. [Gretna Public Schools] The town of Gretna has approximately 5,000 residents, while the school district encompasses more than 30,000 residents. With a capacity for 1,600 students, first year enrollment is expected around 750. [World-Herald]
