ORBT is a bus-rapid transit system in Omaha, Nebraska, operating since 2020. There is one line that runs east-west through Omaha, mainly down Dodge Street and West Dodge Road.
The buses used are similar to many bus-rapid buses from around the world. The features of the buses and platforms includes
- Articulating buses (bendy buses)
- Sidewalks that rise up to the floor height the bus interior floors, to facilitate faster ingress
- Pay stations at the platforms
- Bike racks (weight limit and other considerations here)
How Do You Pay?
As of 2024 the fare is $1.25. All fares information.
You can use the UMO app or purchase a paper ticket. Consider these options…
- Use the UMO app, download it to your phone, enter your banking information and add value to your “wallet”
- With your loaded UMO app, you can purchase an UMO Smart Card and swipe that on the bus
- -OR- using the UMO app on your phone, bring up the “wallet” which will reveal a QR code that you will scan under the reader when entering the bus
- Buy a paper ticket at any kiosk along the ORBT bus line. Do this before you get on the bus (don’t forget to add the option for transfer if you need it). You will scan this paper ticket under the reader when boarding the bus.
Park And Ride
Park at Westroads for FREE! Then ride the OBRT to Midtown and Downtown. This is a much cheaper option for those who usually pay for parking downtown.

MyRide is an interactive map that shows live locations of ORBT buses. When you open the page, check the box on the right-side popout for “ORBT”. The black circles are buses moving in your direction, the grayed out circles are buses moving in the opposite direction.
The bus splits east-west operations downtown due to one-way streets. It goes east on Douglas between 31st Street and 8th Street. Otherwise it goes along Dodge Street and West Dodge Road
