Taste of Omaha is the area’s largest food sampling event with music, performances, rides, vendors, and of course wonderful food and beverages from purveyors from across the Omaha metro.
The event is produced by Mid-America Expositions.
Details
Cost: Attendance is free, just walk right in. The food and beverages are purchased using tear-off tickets, which are sold in sets at various tents throughout the event. The vendors then decide how many tickets each item on their menu costs. Most pop-up tents will offer a true sampling of their menu, while food trucks tend to have their full menu available, or at least full portions of their more popular items.
Entertainment: There are usually two music stages that juggle acts back and forth throughout the event. You’ll also find a performance stage featuring local performance, dance, youth, and artistic groups.
There are small carnival rides, including a ferris wheel, at the Taste of Omaha. Here are a couple in action from my trip in 2021.
History
Due to Omaha Riverfront park renovations, the event was moved to Elmwood Park for three years but denied a license for 2023, so they held it in Ralston. In 2024, the event returns to the renovated Riverfront parks.
